Time Flies

Once again I am amazed that it has been so long since I have had the time to sit down and update my blog. I guess if I were to be honest it has just been a while since I have spent much time in front of the computer at all. I tend to go through phases where I only check my e-mail every 3 days and then other times I check it daily. Needless to say we have been keeping plenty busy with pre-school, soccer, play dates, doctors and all sorts of other fun stuff. :) Lucas is really enjoying playing soccer and has met some really neat boys who are on his team. I must tell you about the coaches son Jonas who is a truly amazing player at just 5 1/2 years of age. He has a brother who is at least 5 years older than him who has played soccer with him since the day he could walk. Once the soccer game starts Jonas is usually the first kid to get the ball and is able to score multiple goals within a matter of minutes. This is when the father/coach steps in and tells Jonas that he is no longer allowed to score but must pass the ball to a teammate in hopes of assisting them to score a goal. Even though the rest of the teammates are only 4 years old and not nearly as experienced - Jonas is always so complementary of them all and will make a point of congratulating them on a nice block they made, a great pass they made or an attempted goal. I know a lot of credit must go to his parents and I just hope I am doing something right with my own boys and that they one day have this great of sportsmanship. We really could not have asked for a better coach and are therefor thoroughly enjoying the soccer season.

What used to be a half hour job can now take twice as long with these two little helpers. :) By the time the car and truck are washed it is then time for the boys to dry out and get a fresh set of clothes.

A couple of weekends ago Steve drove up to Laramie, WY by his self to ride in another mountain bike race with his friend Leif. Steve had a great time with his friend Leif who he used to bike with regularly here in UT until he recently relocated to WY. The kids and I stayed home due to school, soccer and the fact that it is such a long trip for only having one day to visit. We spent the weekend hanging out with friends and the boys woke up Sunday morning to Colton and Gracie babysitting them while mom and Kristin went for a nice 12 1/2 mile run.

Last week we braved a huge crowd at the zoo because of some harvest festival that was going on for members only (which turned out to be half the valley). We decided to skip the festivities since the lines were atrocious and walked around enjoying the animals instead. There must have been something in the water at the zoo because there were baby animals all over. Our favorite was the baby elephant.

Sharing the single stroller at the zoo - the boys were too exhausted to take another step.

And last but not least....what would the McCormack blog be without a picture of Batman or Spiderman????
