Soccer Comes to an End......

We had our last soccer game of the season on Saturday and it was pretty cold when Lucas played his game at 9:00.  The boys did not seem to mind too much, it was the poor parents on the sidelines.  ;)

Above is Lucas's little friend Owen LaDue, who happened to have a great game and it was his birthday.

Trophy Time!!
Since Landon's game did not start until 12:00, we had time to go shopping and take our purchases home before heading back to the field for game number two.

Half Time Treats!

The boys had such an amazing year in soccer and it's always a little sad to see it end.  We grow to love their teammates, coaches and parents so it's hard to start all over with a new team come fall.  However, I just can't say enough good things about AYSO.

Misc. May

Landon brings home The Very Hungry Caterpillar from school.

Lucas had his spring sing at school and I was not surprised at all to see him in the back row barely moving his lips.  He has never liked to sing.

A rainy play date with their friend Kagen.
Taby waiting for me to come home......

A Super Mother's Day!!

The first time I saw the Mother's Day Hallmark Cards displayed at the store this year, I began to cry.  It really hit home that I no longer have my mom around and the closer the day got it seems like the harder it got.
When the day finally arrived, I was roused from my slumber with a delicious homemade breakfast from Steve, Lucas and Landon.  I told them I wanted us all to go shopping for flowers and plants for the garden.  When the boys were not helping me with planting, they were busy helping Steve move rocks in another part of the yard.  I loved that we all spent the day together and think this may be a new Mother's Day tradition, especially since it was my mom who started this garden for me over 7 years ago.

For dinner we went to Grandma Judy and Papa Joe's house where Uncle Chris barbecued and we spent time with the family and one of Aunt Erin's friends, Colleen, who was visiting from out of town.

A classic game of Red Light - Green Light.

During the day I had my ups and downs but in the end was just so thankful to be a mom myself.  I have two wonderful little boys that I adore more than anything and who fill my life with joy.  I know how fragile life is and I want to try and enjoy the time I have with them while they are still young and willing to spend time with me.  I continue to miss my mom dearly no matter what day it is.  I try to gain comfort in knowing that she is out there watching over me and my family and know that she would be proud of the mom I have become.

Lucas has a Field Trip

I volunteered to be a chaperon for Lucas' 2nd grade field trip to the zoo.  The week before, I joined Landon on his preschool field trip to the zoo, but forgot to bring my camera that day.

It was cold and snowed off and on all day, so we were very thankful for the indoor exhibits.  The animals seemed to be very active this particular day, maybe because of the cooler temperatures.

The boys got a kick out of watching the mom and baby elephants go poop and pee.  Then later on they got to watch one of the apes eat his own poop.  All in all it was an eventful day at the zoo.

Our New Favorite Place

Landon and I met up with Sarah Armstrong and Lori Carter at This is the Place Heritage Park last month.  It was my first time there and Landon had so much fun that I ended up buying a season pass so that we could go back anytime we want.  There is a train you ride, a pony ride, a petting corral, a stream where we panned for gold and so much more!!

A week or so later we took Lucas to This is the Place where we once again met up with Sarah and the Armstrong children.

The boys liked the baby chicks and Landon was so excited to ride the ponies again.  Lucas really liked panning for gold.  We will definitely be taking advantage of our season passes, the boys can't wait to go back with their daddy.
