San Antonio - Part I

Steve and I took our first solo trip last week to San Antonio, Texas.  Steve was selected by his boss to receive an award for being a Top Performer among Wells Fargo's Technology and Operations Group.  This award was given to the top 3% of employees which amounted to about 700 people.  The company paid for our air fair and hotel stay at the JW Marriot Hill Country Resort as well as all food, drinks and entertainment for the first 48 hours of our trip.

The view from our hotel room.  When we arrived we had time to kill before heading to dinner so we soaked up some sun on the lazy river at the hotel.
Steve and I chose to explore the San Antonio River by taking a chartered River Cruiser.

After enjoying lunch at Rio Rio we got to go shopping and explore La Villita, a small village made up of historic buildings.

We stopped at San Fernando Cathedral founded in 1731.

We also stopped at Ursuline Academy/Southwest School of Art, founded in 1851 by French Ursuline nuns.
We got back to the hotel in time to shower and get ready for the awards ceremony, dinner and celebration.

Dave and Gwen were so fun to hang out with all day.  At the end of the night we were a little sad to say goodbye to our new found bff's.

The dealer at our blackjack table was a saint for putting up with Gwen and I's lack of knowledge on the game.
I always knew Steve was a hard worker and it was so nice to see that all his hard work pays off.
