Day 2 - Carlsbad, California - Legoland

Our first morning I woke up bright and early and went for a run along the beach before meeting up with the boys for the yummy breakfast at our hotel.  Lucas had been looking forward to all you can eat bacon for quit some time.  We then headed for LEGOLAND and were at the front of the line when they opened the gates.

Steve and I told the boys that since we agreed to go back to LEGOLAND we were going to do some of the rides we wanted to do as well.  We took the boys on 3 roller coasters and we rode one other crazy insane ride while the boys watched.  It happened to be Sunday and the lines for the rides were not nearly as bad as they had been last year.  Overall we had a much better time.

Day 1 - Carlsbad, California - Roadtrip

Two weeks ago when we left for our California vacation we had to battle a snow storm for the first hour of our drive.  Boy did that make the thought of arriving at our destination that much sweeter.  We packed up our rented Ford Escape the night before, so at 4 a.m. the next morning all we had to do was load up ourselves.
The boys kept busy watching videos and playing on their Nintendo DS's.  They also had some new books that they bought from Barnes the day before that kept them pretty entertained.  At one point Landon got car sick but seemed to do better after a little 7 Up and a piece of bread.  Poor guy, I'm just thankful it wasn't any worse.
Before heading to our hotel, we dropped Taby off down the road at a doggy hotel for the week.  It was hard to leave her but I was able to call and check on her everyday and was just a few miles away if needed for any reason.

After getting unpacked and settled into the hotel we headed across the street to take in a little bit of sunshine and the beach.  Thinking we would just play for a little bit was a far cry from the truth.  Almost 2 hours later we took two sopping wet, sandy boys back to the room to clean up so we could go downstairs for dinner where Steve and I had the yummiest fish tacos.

Of course the boys then had a little bit of time to hit the swimming pool before calling it a night.

March 2013

Landon is still at the age where he loves helping me decorate for the holidays.  Unfortunately the only time Lucas likes to help anymore is when it comes time to decorate the Christmas tree and find all of his ornaments.  Even Taby Dog got in the spirit of decorating.

Usually at night time Taby follows me around waiting until I go to bed.  This night I guess she was just too tired to protest when Landon put her on Lucas' bed and she slept with the boys until sometime in the middle of the night.

The boys and I enjoyed a beautiful spring day at Wheeler Farm with the Armstrong kids and some of their friends.  There were lots of baby sheep and a few calfs.  We spent a couple of hours playing on the playground and walking around looking at the animals.

We set a leprechaun trap the night before St. Patrick's Day in hopes of catching one of the sneaky little guys.  We did not have much luck and that little guy messed up almost every room in our house, he turned the milk and our bagels green and left green pee in the toilet!!  Maybe next year we will spend a little more time on our trap.
We finally got the boys some new swings for their swing set.  I just need to decide if I should make the youngest McCormack wear a helmet....

Lucas Turns 8!!!

The night before his actual birthday, we had brownies and Lucas opened one of his presents.
I think he was happy about getting Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days.  As soon as we finished with brownies we headed downstairs to watch the movie.

The next morning we were up early and Lucas opened two more movies and a Sponge Bob Lego set.  I bet you can guess what we spent the day doing.

That night we went to Grandma Judy's house for pizza and ice cream cake.  Notice the lovely message Uncle Chris left on the cake; Happy Birthday Tomato/Poo Breath.  lol  Maybe the boys never will grow out of talking about poo.  Lucas had a great birthday and we look forward to spending time on vacation as a family which we will be doing in lieu of birthday parties this year.

February 2013

Part of playing Junior Jazz Basketball is getting to go and meet one of the Utah Jazz players.  The event was held at a local high school gym and there were a lot of kids there.  Junior Jazz participants were called down in groups to do some sort of activity with Al Jefferson.
Lucas is third from right doing a passing drill.
Lucas is fourth from left doing another passing drill.  Landon was brave enough to go down on the court for the second activity but I did not get pictures with my fancy (NOT) camera.  At the end they both got an autographed picture of Al.
Landon and Lucas love going to the dentist!!  I hate to see the day when they no longer get a toy and dread going.

Our Valentines pizza was yummy!!
Lucas and Landon had a sleep over with Aunt Erin and she took them to Barnes & Noble where they each got to spend $30 for their birthday.  Not only did they get some new books but they also got some cool Legos.  Thanks Aunt Erin!!

Playing hide-n-seek is a favorite activity at our house.  Landon surprised us all not by just hiding in the linen closet but on the second shelf non the less.
The boys and I took in a Grizzlies Hockey game on Presidents Day.  We had some pretty cool seats.

Landon trying to sneak into our room to sleep but he did not quit make it.  So sweet.
